The Revitalise network is coordinated by a steering group comprised of three academics, based at Aberystwyth University and the University of Edinburgh.

  • Dr Huw Lewis is a lecturer in politics at the Department of International Politics at Aberystwyth University. His research interests include language revitalisation, language policy and planning, debates concerning multiculturalism and nationalism and contemporary Welsh and UK politics. Alongside the Revitalise network, Huw is also involved in following research project: Autonomy Movements and Economic and Social Justice (part of the H2020 IMAJINE project, 'Integrative Mechanism for Addressing Spatial Injustice and Territorial Inequalities in Europe').   • Professor Wilson McLeod is Professor of Gaelic at the Department of Celtic and Scottish Studies at the University of Edinburgh. His research interests include language policy and planning, language legislation and language rights and the cultural politics of Scottish and Irish Gaelic literature. Contact Wilson.
  • Dr Elin Royles is a senior lecturer in politics at the Department of International Politics at Aberystwyth University. Her research interests include post-devolution UK politics, sub-state nation-building and language policy and planning. Alongside the Revitalise network, Elin is also a contributor to the following funded research projects: Education, Language and Identity (part of the ESRC funded WISERD Civil Society Research Centre); and Autonomy Movements and Economic and Social Justice (part of the H2020 IMAJINE project, 'Integrative Mechanism for Addressing Spatial Injustice and Territorial Inequalities in Europe').
